We are currently supporting a well established specialist contractor in the building envelope sector who are looking to strengthen their commercial and pre construction team with the appointment of a Façade Estimator. Due to continued growth and a strong secured pipeline of work, the business is open to speaking with both Intermediate and Senior level estimators who are looking to develop their career within a technically led façade contractor.

This business operates as a specialist façade and building envelope contractor delivering complex external envelope packages across a wide range of commercial construction projects throughout London and the South East. They have built a strong reputation for delivering high quality façade solutions across cladding, curtain walling and external envelope systems, working with major contractors and developers on technically challenging schemes. With a strong order book and a growing pipeline of projects, they are now investing in their estimating function to support continued growth.
The Role
You will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for façade and envelope projects. Working closely with the commercial and delivery teams, you will review tender documentation, build detailed cost plans and support the bid process through to submission. Depending on your level of experience, the role can be positioned as either an Intermediate or Senior Estimator within the team.
- Preparing detailed cost estimates for façade and external envelope packages
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation to assess project scope
- Calculating labour, material, plant and subcontractor costs
- Compiling competitive and commercially viable tender submissions
- Identifying project risks and building appropriate allowances into pricing
- Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate quotations
- Supporting value engineering opportunities and cost saving solutions
- Working closely with commercial and project teams during the tender process
- Maintaining detailed records of estimates, bids and cost breakdowns
- Reviewing and updating estimates where project scope changes
The Ideal Candidate
The company is open to candidates at different levels, but they are ideally looking for individuals who already have experience pricing façade or building envelope packages.
- Experience working as an Estimator within façades, cladding, curtain walling or building envelope
- Understanding of façade systems and construction processes
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender documentation
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Good commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Confident communicating with suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams
- Experience preparing tender submissions and cost plans
For senior level candidates, additional experience may include:
- Leading tender submissions on larger façade projects
- Mentoring junior estimators within the team
- Strong involvement in commercial strategy and bid management
