About the Company
Our client is a nationally recognised roofing contractor with a strong reputation for quality and reliability across new-build and refurbishment markets. They deliver complex roofing projects for major developers and contractors, with a strong pipeline of pitched roofing work across residential and commercial sectors. Their continued success has created the opportunity for a technically minded Senior Contracts Manager to join their leadership team.
The Role
As Senior Contracts Manager, you will take full ownership of multiple pitched roofing contracts — overseeing project delivery from tender and pre-start through to completion and final handover. This position requires a strong technical background in pitched roofing systems, including both traditional and modern methods of construction, and the ability to lead multiple site teams while ensuring quality, compliance, and client satisfaction at every stage. You’ll be the operational lead for roofing delivery, responsible for programme management, cost control, and client communication, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Leading the delivery of pitched roofing contracts from inception to completion.
- Providing hands‑on technical support and guidance on roofing design, materials, and installation methodologies.
- Managing project budgets, forecasts, timelines, and site resources.
- Overseeing site management teams, subcontractors, and direct labour.
- Conducting regular site inspections, toolbox talks, and HSEQ audits.
- Attending client meetings, progress reviews, and pre-starts.
- Collaborating with commercial and procurement teams to ensure profitable, compliant delivery.
- Reporting to senior management on project performance and progress.
The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for an experienced, hands‑on Contracts Manager or Senior Contracts Manager with an excellent working knowledge of pitched roofing systems (tiling, slating, trussed rafters, and roofline elements). You’ll be commercially aware, process‑driven, and able to lead multiple concurrent projects with a focus on quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
Experience Required:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing pitched roofing contracts within the new-build housebuilder sector.
- Proven track record of delivering roofing packages for major residential developers or national housebuilders.
- CSCS (Gold or Black), SMSTS and First Aid certifications desirable.
- Strong technical understanding of pitched roofing build-ups and design principles.
- Proven ability to lead multiple teams and manage supply chain performance.
- Excellent communication and client liaison skills.
- Commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, valuations, and cost reports.
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel regionally.
What’s on Offer
You’ll be joining a forward-thinking roofing business that values technical expertise and operational leadership. In return for your experience, you’ll receive:
- Annual performance‑related bonus
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays
- Long‑term progression opportunities within a growing division
