A Sales Executive is required to join a growing specialist training provider based in South Gloucestershire. This role would suit someone looking to build a career in sales, business development or account management within a professional technical training environment. The position will involve making outbound calls to existing clients, dormant accounts and new targeted prospects. You will be responsible for identifying training requirements, speaking with decision makers and helping customers access the right technical courses for their teams. This is a great opportunity for someone who is either new to sales or already working in a sales, telesales, account management or customer development role. Full support and training will be provided, so the right attitude, confidence, work ethic and desire to succeed will be key. You will work closely with the Business Development Manager and wider sales team to help achieve sales targets while developing your own career within a business that values progression, internal development and long-term customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Make professional outbound calls to existing clients, dormant accounts and targeted new prospects.
- Speak with decision makers to identify technical training requirements and potential course bookings.
- Develop relationships with customers across healthcare, facilities management, universities, local authorities, manufacturing, airports and wider technical sectors.
- Answer incoming sales calls and respond to training enquiries with accurate and helpful information.
- Work closely with the Business Development Manager and sales team to support individual and team targets.
- Follow up on marketing campaigns, email responses and new customer enquiries.
- Build a pipeline of sales opportunities across relevant training course areas.
- Identify new prospects and targeted leads within relevant market sectors.
- Maintain accurate customer information, contact records and sales activity within the CRM system.
- Reply to customer emails and calls promptly and professionally.
- Support account development by identifying future training needs and repeat booking opportunities.
- Attend exhibitions, client meetings and industry events with colleagues where required.
- Represent the business professionally when speaking with clients, prospects and external contacts.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure customers receive a high-quality service from enquiry through to booking.
Preferred Ideal Experience & Skills Required
- Previous experience in sales, telesales, account management, customer service or business development would be beneficial.
- Confident telephone manner with the ability to speak professionally with decision makers.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build rapport quickly and create positive customer relationships.
- Positive attitude with a genuine desire to learn, develop and succeed in sales.
- Comfortable making outbound calls and following up with customers.
- Ability to listen carefully, understand customer needs and recommend suitable training options.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage follow-ups, CRM updates and sales activity.
- Professional approach when representing a specialist training provider.
- Exposure to facilities management, healthcare, M&E, local authorities, universities or similar sectors would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Ability to think on your feet and respond confidently to customer questions.
- Strong team player with the ability to work independently when required.
