An established renewable energy business is looking to appoint a Solar Project Manager to support the successful delivery of residential solar PV and battery storage installations across Reading and the surrounding areas. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with at least 1 year of experience managing residential solar projects to join a well-established and highly respected business with a strong reputation for technical excellence, quality workmanship and customer care. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating projects from handover through to completion, ensuring installations are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. This role would suit someone who is organised, proactive and confident managing installers, customers and subcontractors while keeping projects moving at pace.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage residential solar PV and battery storage installations from initial handover through to completion.
- Coordinate labour, materials, equipment and scheduling to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Act as the main point of contact for customers throughout the installation process.
- Liaise closely with installation teams, electricians, roofers and office staff to maintain smooth project delivery.
- Carry out site visits where required to monitor progress, resolve issues and maintain quality standards.
- Review project documentation, technical information and installation requirements before works begin.
- Ensure all works are delivered in line with health and safety standards and company procedures.
- Identify and manage project risks, installation delays and site‑based issues quickly and effectively.
- Support the continuous improvement of installation processes and customer experience.
- Maintain accurate project records and provide regular progress updates to internal stakeholders.
Preferred Ideal Experience & Skills Required
- At least 1 year of experience managing residential solar installations for a reputable solar or renewable energy company.
- Good understanding of residential solar PV and battery storage installation processes.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Confident communicator with the ability to manage customers and installation teams effectively.
- Able to work in a fast‑paced environment and juggle multiple live projects.
- Good problem‑solving skills and a practical approach to site‑based challenges.
- Experience using project tracking systems, scheduling tools or job management software would be advantageous.
