A Trainee Energy Consultant is required near Kenilworth to join a Technical Delivery team supporting clients with energy, sustainability and compliance projects.

This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a graduate, an early-career technical professional or someone looking to move into the UK energy sector.

Working alongside experienced consultants, the Trainee Energy Consultant will support renewable and energy scheme applications, compliance audits, sustainability assessments, feasibility studies and efficiency reviews.

You will assist with site visits, analyse energy data and help customers identify practical opportunities to reduce consumption, improve performance and meet scheme requirements.

Two permanent openings are available with structured training and a clear development pathway into an Energy Consultant or related technical role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with site visits to understand energy use, assess renewable options and review compliance with relevant energy schemes.
  • Process applications and amendments for schemes including Renewable Heat Incentive, Feed-in Tariff and Combined Heat and Power Quality Assurance.
  • Gather technical information from clients, suppliers and installers under guidance from senior colleagues.
  • Analyse consumption data, operational information and project evidence to identify savings and improvement opportunities.
  • Support compliance audits, sustainability assessments, feasibility studies and energy efficiency reviews.
  • Prepare clear calculations, project notes and technical information for review by experienced consultants.
  • Maintain accurate project records, timesheets and activity reports in line with internal procedures.
  • Communicate professionally with clients and explain information clearly throughout the project process.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing and Energy Account Management teams to support joined-up client delivery.
  • Contribute to wider technical, compliance and research projects across the business.

Experience & Skills Required

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following

  • Hold a degree or equivalent qualification in energy, engineering, environmental science, agriculture or a related subject or demonstrate relevant practical experience.
  • Demonstrate a genuine interest in the UK energy sector, sustainability and energy efficiency.
  • Apply strong analytical skills and work confidently with numerical and energy data.
  • Work accurately with excellent attention to detail across technical and administrative tasks.
  • Organise workloads effectively and manage time across multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Communicate clearly in writing and verbally with colleagues, clients and external partners.
  • Use Excel, Word and Outlook confidently to manage data, records and communications.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
  • Show willingness to travel regularlly to client sites across the UK.
  • Bring knowledge of renewable or low-carbon technologies with an understanding of relevant schemes considered advantageous.
  • Demonstrate an interest in agricultural or rural energy use with advanced Excel or modelling skills viewed positively.

This is a permanent full-time position offering 37 hours per week and a salary of £25,000–£28,000 per annum.

The Trainee Energy Consultant will work on a hybrid basis with a minimum of two days in the Stoneleigh Park office each week alongside regular travel to client sites across the UK.

Structured training, day-to-day support from experienced consultants and exposure to a varied range of technical projects will help you build practical knowledge quickly.

The two available Trainee Energy Consultant positions offer a clear pathway into an Energy Consultant role or another related career within energy, sustainability and technical delivery.

£25,000–£28,000 per annum / Permanent / Full time / 37 hours per week.
