We are recruiting an Electrical Qualifications Manager to support the development, review and ongoing quality of electrotechnical qualifications across the building services sector. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge, quality assurance experience and a clear understanding of assessment, certification and qualification development. You will play a key part in ensuring electrical qualifications remain accurate, compliant and aligned with current industry standards. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams, technical specialists and external stakeholders to maintain high standards across qualification content, examinations and assessment materials. This is a varied role that requires strong organisation, excellent communication skills and the ability to manage technical projects with confidence. The role offers hybrid working, occasional travel and the opportunity to influence the delivery of electrical qualifications across a growing and well-established awarding environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor legislative, regulatory and industry standard changes that may impact electrical qualifications, assessments and examinations.
  • Review qualification content, assessment documentation and examination materials to ensure accuracy, validity and compliance.
  • Support internal teams with technical guidance relating to the development and delivery of electrical qualifications.
  • Work with technical specialists to ensure qualification content reflects current sector requirements and best practice.
  • Represent the organisation at relevant industry meetings, technical committees and sector events when required.
  • Appoint, manage and support qualification writers, assessment writers and technical contributors.
  • Oversee the development of assessment strategies that meet qualification and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all technical development activity supports accessibility, equality and diversity principles.
  • Identify opportunities to improve qualification materials, processes and assessment documentation.
  • Support external quality assurance activity where required.
  • Manage projects effectively and ensure deadlines are met across qualification development activities.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, approved centres and external stakeholders.

Preferred Ideal Experience & Skills Required

  • Hold a Level 3 qualification or equivalent in building services, electrical installation or a related technical discipline.
  • Have strong electrotechnical sector experience within training, assessment, quality assurance or qualification development.
  • Hold an appropriate qualification in external quality assurance, assessment monitoring or a related quality assurance discipline.
  • Understand accreditation, certification, examination and assessment processes within technical qualifications.
  • Have experience supporting apprentices, trainees, engineers, supervisors or technical employees.
  • Be confident reviewing technical documents, qualification content and assessment materials.
  • Have the ability to design, develop and implement examination and assessment strategies.
  • Be highly organised with strong time management and project management skills.
  • Be able to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a wider team.
  • Have strong communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.
  • Be comfortable working with Microsoft Office and digital systems.
  • Be able to manage deadlines, priorities and technical workloads effectively.
  • Show a clear commitment to accessibility, equality and diversity.
