At our plant in Glenrothes, Scotland we design, develop and produce radial piston motors working in partnership with world renowned international OEM’s in industries such as material handling, construction and forestry machinery.

Some general hands-on mechanical experience is required. The candidate should have the ability to work on their own initiative, as part of a team and to follow instruction. They should be able to approach problems logically and communicate with all levels of the organisation both verbally and in writing. Attendance at both college and the workplace for the duration of the apprenticeship is necessary, along with the completion of all training modules successfully and in a timely manner with the support of external auditors.

The role involves developing mechanical knowledge and experience in the field of CNC machining, understanding all metrology and tooling used to support production, and developing standard working methods for production processes including tooling, fixturing, work holding, and work instructions. The candidate will also need to understand the requirements for preparing CNC programs for new or updated components and establishing initial cycle times through component and machine proofing. Adherence to all company policies, procedures and documentation is essential.

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum of 4 National Five Qualifications at Level 4 or above.
  • Mandatory subject qualifications are English, Maths, a Science and technical related subjects including Graphic Communication / Physics.
  • Applicants with a relevant NC qualification of Intermediate 2 Maths plus one Higher (Science/Technical related subject at a Grade C or above may be considered).
  • Foundation Apprenticeship in Engineering or Scientific Technology would be advantageous.
