Rexel UK currently have an exciting opportunity for a Driver /Warehouse Operative to join the team in our Glasgow RDC. As a Driver /Warehouse Operative for Rexel, you will provide an efficient and professional delivery service to customers as well as facilitating the inward movements of stock and prepare the outward movement to fulfil customers’ orders.
The Role
As a Driver/Warehouse Operative for Rexel, you are responsible for:
- Facilitate all inward stock movements for the branch efficiently, following company procedures, and using IT systems where appropriate
- Pick and pack goods to fulfil customer orders in an efficient, timely and safe manner
- Manage and maintain the stock integrity and ensure accurate completion of all cycle-counts and stock-takes
- Delivering excellent customer service through representing the Rexel brand by demonstrating a positive, friendly and professional image to our customers
- Transporting customer orders to required addresses, timely and professionally
- Effectively planning delivery routes to maximise time/cost effectiveness and to meet specific customer requirements
- Loading and unloading vehicles safely and effectively, taking account of product size, weight and delivery routing
- Contacting customers to provide updates on deliveries, confirming times and any additional requirements
- Ensuring legal compliance is attained in relation to the upkeep and maintenance of the vehicles
- Supporting the Branch Network by promoting products and services, providing advice and assistance to customers regarding deliveries and products
- Observing the local surroundings and recording and reporting back any potential business opportunities identified
- Using IT systems such as M3 or Microsoft Office where appropriate
- Supporting in other areas of the branch operation as and when required
The Person
To be a Driver/Warehouse Operative for Rexel, you will need:
- To be customer focussed
- To have had experience of working in a fast-paced role, whilst maintaining a consistent eye for detail
- A flexible approach and an ability to work under pressure
- An ability to embrace change and new technologies
- Experience within a multi-product warehouse environment (ideally)
- Previous multi-drop experience in a 3.5 tonne van (ideally)
- Computer literate and basic IT skills
Due to insurance purposes all Drivers within Rexel must:
- Be aged 21 & above
- Have held a license for minimum of 12 months
- Have a maximum of 3 points on driving license and no prior disqualifications of driving
The Driver/Warehouse Operative role is a FULL TIME PERMANENT POSITION MONDAY - FRIDAY and we offer a pension, life assurance, 25 days holiday plus statutory bank holidays.
