We have an opening for a Warehouse Shift Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day running of our Cables & Containment team, working Monday to Friday in our Flagship Aylesbury Distribution Centre.

We are looking for a highly customer-focused individual who will take responsibility for staff planning, retention, training, health & safety, and delivering high levels of customer centricity. The role involves contributing to the implementation of operational strategy in line with business objectives, site security, stock integrity, and meeting company KPIs & customer SLAs.

You will work with key stakeholders and internal supply chain management to support and implement continuous improvement initiatives and sustained changes to maximize efficiency and process development.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute daily operational activities to ensure effective picks, packs, and dispatches for customer and distribution orders.
  • Develop and manage relationships with internal customers and third parties to ensure high customer centricity and service delivery.
  • Motivate and develop staff to meet objectives and adhere to company policies, addressing performance issues as needed.
  • Control and monitor costs such as overtime, absence, and transport costs.
  • Utilize RF and HHT capabilities to improve stock placement, accuracy, and throughput efficiency.
  • Ensure shift KPIs are met, with timely completion of weekly/monthly reports.
  • Apply lean principles to improve processes and eliminate waste.
  • Facilitate effective communication across shifts through regular feedback and team briefs.
  • Maintain site security, housekeeping standards, and health & safety compliance, taking prompt action on issues.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of health & safety, environmental, and quality standards within a distribution environment.
  • Experience in warehouse operations management and staff development.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with inventory control.
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (preferably M3).
  • Understanding of lean techniques for workflow and process improvements.
  • Effective communication skills in English (spoken and written) and numeracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to analyze data accurately.
