In this key role, you will oversee all purchasing and inventory projects across Rexel UK. You will drive strategic procurement initiatives, improve inventory quality and lead cross‑functional projects that increase operational efficiency, reduce costs and support customer service excellence. Working closely with procurement, supply chain, commercial and finance teams, you will own a portfolio of projects focused on process standardisation, automation and ERP improvements. You will be accountable for delivering measurable benefits in product availability, inventory performance and cost savings, while championing continuous improvement across the function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead procurement and inventory optimisation projects, including process standardisation, automation initiatives and ERP system improvements.
- Track and report project KPIs, timelines, risks and benefits, ensuring clear visibility for stakeholders at all levels.
- Deliver measurable improvements to customer service, inventory quality, cost savings and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with sales, commercial, category management and finance teams to ensure purchasing and stock projects are aligned with business objectives.
- Identify and drive cost‑saving opportunities and cost‑control initiatives across procurement and inventory activities.
- Act as the departmental lead for continuous improvement, process review and best‑practice implementation.
- Build strong internal networks across Supply Chain, IT, Marketing, People and other enabling functions to ensure smooth delivery and adoption of change.
You will succeed in this role by demonstrating strong collaboration, taking accountability for outcomes and maintaining a clear focus on the customer, while using your resourcefulness and problem‑solving skills to innovate and drive better ways of working.

- The ability to work cross‑functionally and manage competing priorities.
- A project management qualification is preferred but not essential.
- A qualification in Supply Chain, Business or a related field would be advantageous.
