The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

We are recruiting a Transport Supervisor for our Swansea Hub, working Monday to Friday from 06:30 to 14:00. The role ensures the smooth and efficient running of our transport operation across our branch network.

Job Description

  • Ownership of delivery routing, vehicle management and drivers covering the following tasks:
  • Route planning using our PODFather system
  • Briefing and debriefing drivers
  • Organising vehicle maintenance
  • Co-ordinating vehicle inspections and MOTs to ensure the fleet remains legally compliant and operational
  • Assist with incident investigations and resolution
  • Handle administrative tasks for the transport department, including filing, managing documents and performing general office duties
  • Documentation and record keeping: maintain accurate records of third-party costs, driver hours sheets and timecards, issue RX numbers to agencies & maintain the agency tracker
  • Communicate professionally with drivers, suppliers and customers to resolve any issues
  • Help ensure the operation complies with all transportation laws and safety standards
  • Track shipment progress and manage data related to transport activities
  • Generate delivery performance reports for management
  • React quickly to challenges such as traffic delays, vehicle breakdowns or delivery issues, finding effective solutions
  • Act as a key communication link, addressing internal and external customer queries regarding deliveries and shipments

Qualifications

  • Strong Excel skills (reports, pivot tables, basic formulas)
  • Knowledge of driver hours rules, MOTs and transport compliance
  • KPI/report generation (on-time delivery, costs, exceptions)
  • Multi-tasking and time-management under tight deadlines
  • Basic vehicle/fleet awareness and IT troubleshooting
  • Document control and filing (audit-ready paperwork)
  • Clear verbal and written communication with drivers, customers and suppliers
  • Customer-service orientation under pressure
  • Fast problem-solving and decision-making
