Re:work is partnering with Trustly, a private equity-backed global Open Banking payments company with 900+ people, to hire a Global Talent Acquisition Director. Trustly operates critical payments infrastructure across Europe and the US, enabling Pay by Bank at scale for some of the world’s largest digital businesses. The business is profitable and operating at scale, with growth now driven by the quality of its leadership, judgement, and hiring decisions. With new senior leadership in place, including a recently appointed CTO, Trustly is raising the bar on how it hires.

This role exists to ensure that Talent Acquisition operates as a trusted, business-critical function with real influence on organisational quality.

The opportunity

You will take full ownership of how Trustly hires globally and how the Talent Acquisition function operates. The focus is on talent density rather than volume, and on whether the people joining Trustly are genuinely raising the bar as roles and expectations evolve with scale across different markets. You will report to the CFO, lead and grow a team of eight, and operate with real autonomy as a thought partner to senior leaders across the business.

What matters most in this role

This role exists to solve a set of practical, business-critical problems:

  • How does Trustly ensure the talent it brings in is genuinely raising organisational capability?
  • How is hiring demand planned in line with where the business is going, not just current vacancies?
  • How are trade-offs made between hiring now, waiting, or changing pace when demand exceeds capacity?
  • How are AI, data, modern tools, and sound judgement used to improve hiring decisions and the talent acquisition process?

Success is not measured by how many roles are closed. It’s measured by whether Trustly is consistently building stronger teams over time, and whether leaders trust the judgement of the TA team.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for a proven Talent Acquisition Director who has operated in a scaling, tech-led environment and has solved these problems before. You’re likely to be a strong fit if you’ve led a TA function through a phase where quality mattered more than speed, worked closely with senior leaders on ambiguous hiring challenges, and have a clear point of view on talent density and how to assess it in practice. You’ll also have experience upleveling a TA team’s capability and credibility, and be comfortable operating without a rigid playbook while bringing structure as you go.
