Would you like to join the London office of a multi-award-winning built environment design consultancy as an Electronic Security Systems Design Engineer, working as part of a talented team that design and build resilient systems and security infrastructure for iconic buildings and projects across the UK.
Work covers the assessment of accidental and malicious risk; the design of building systems, infrastructure; and the development of operational security procedures and innovative and optimised solutions which are reliable and sustainable.
You will ideally have a strong foundation in Electrical, Electronic or Security Systems Engineering, experience supporting the delivery of electronic and physical security consultancy and design services, and a willingness and enthusiasm to build and develop skills within the Electronic and Physical Security space, supported by the wider business.
Responsibilities- Supporting the delivery of small to large scale projects as part of a multi-disciplinary design team consisting of other built environment and IT engineering disciplines.
- Provide consultancy, detailed designs, cost estimates and construction administration services in relation to the delivery of Electronic Security Systems including; CCTV, Access Control, Perimeter IDS and Intruder Detection; Security Control Room configurations; Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) systems and IP interfacing/integration; PMR systems etc.
- Production of design deliverables including reports and drawings within agreed deadlines and budgetary constraints.
- Supporting the Leadership team with developing fee proposals, estimates; meeting with project teams and clients to develop opportunities; and presenting at external conferences and networking events.
- Provide or support the Leadership team with developing fee proposals.
- Take a holistic approach to identifying solutions for clients; interfacing between Mechanical, Electrical, Building Management System, Smart Building and IT specialists.
- Ideally degree educated in Electronic Engineering, Security Systems, Computer Science, Digital Forensics, Information Security, Risk Management or related discipline.
- Work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary design teams within the built environment.
- Experience working directly with clients to understand their requirements and ensure these are being met during project delivery.
- Experience presenting to clients, considering both formal presentations such as at project completion and informal presentations such as design review workshops.
- Experience within an electronic security systems design and engineering environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
