Head of Sustainability
London
Do you have a passion for Sustainability and the Environment? If so, we might have the opportunity for you. We are looking for a Head of Sustainability or an individual looking for the next step in their career to join our team in London with hybrid working.
The Head of Sustainability will work in collaboration with colleagues from across the business, providing expert advice and input on projects at all stages. They will take responsibility for overseeing and completing packages of work allocated by the Partners, to be delivered in accordance with quality standards, project plans and objectives. This role will have a focus on Energy Modelling, Building Physics, Energy & Sustainability Strategies for both clients in the public and private sectors.
Responsibilities include:
- Leadership, growth and development of Environmental and Energy Assessment and support, collaborative working and integration with Building Services.
- Strategic client advice, strategy development and training.
- SBEM Assessments and Commercial EPC’s.
- Dynamic Thermal modelling, including energy modelling, overheating, day lighting, over shading and ventilation analysis using appropriate software (IES preferred).
- Appropriate knowledge of BREEAM assessment process, with responsibility for project management and delivery of BREEAM “information required” schedules, report writing and oversight of certification.
- Understanding of SAP (preferably using Stroma FSAP)
- Prepare/approve final results and issue for inclusion in the Energy Strategies.
- Production of appropriate retro fit strategies.
- Energy surveys on existing buildings.
- Client liaison and meeting attendance.
- Provide technical and practical advice to project design team members.
- Project management.
- Assist the team in any business development as required.
Skills and experience include:
- Educated to degree level in a suitable scientific or engineering discipline.
- Member of CIBSE/IEMA/EI or working towards membership
- Low Carbon Consultant
- Non-residential Low Carbon Energy Assessor certified to issue EPC levels 3, 4, and 5.
- Familiar with IES (overheating, day lighting, sun lighting, over shading, and ventilation analysis, etc).
- SBEM Assessor
- Understanding of BREEAM with a preference for BREEAM non housing variants.
- Understanding of SAP preferably using Stroma FSAP.
