Not every Quantity Surveying role offers the chance to get properly embedded in a major project from start to finish. This one does. We are working with a well-established engineering and construction contractor that has secured a significant project in Teesside with an expected programme of approximately 24 months. As a result, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong NEC Option E experience to take a leading commercial role on the project.
This is not a role for somebody looking to simply administer a contract. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the commercial delivery of a complex scheme, working closely with operational teams, client representatives and key stakeholders to ensure the project is delivered successfully from both a contractual and commercial perspective.
We're particularly interested in speaking with Quantity Surveyors who have a strong understanding of NEC contracts, specifically Option E, and who are comfortable operating in a project environment where commercial awareness, contractual knowledge and proactive decision-making are par for the course.
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience operating as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on major construction, engineering, infrastructure or industrial projects.
- Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts, with demonstrable NEC Option E experience.
- Experience managing change, compensation events, forecasting and commercial reporting.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with both project teams and clients.
- A commercially astute approach combined with a practical understanding of project delivery.
