Head of Sales & Business Development | £65,000 + bonus + benefits
Hertfordshire (UK Wide Remit) | Specialist Contractor | Permanent
Some roles are just about following the tried and tested. Others are about helping to shape the future of the business. This one is the latter.
The Head of Sales & Business Development will be joining a specialist contractor carving out a reputation in one of construction’s most (quietly) vital trades – delivering specialist coatings, finishing systems and cladding to projects across the UK. A family owned entity now entering a period of ambitious growth.
They have the reputation. They’ve got the operational strength. What they need now is someone to take those foundations and turn them into growth momentum.
That’s where you come in.
This is a hands-on leadership role. Not removed from the action. You will lead and grow a small but capable team while personally driving business development and key client relationships.
This one is about owning the full sales journey; spotting opportunities, developing bids and ensuring promises made in the sales room are carried forward to site.
As part of the senior leadership team, you will be close to the CEO and be trusted to provide influence as to how the business scales. If you have spent time in construction sub-contracting (coatings, cladding, fit out or similar), you will know exactly what good looks like.
This company has strong values, a grounded culture and a strong sense of shared ownership. It’s the kind of place where you will see the impact of your work, and where your future progression is mapped out, with a clear route to Sales / Commercial Director within 2-3 years and potentially MD for the ultra-ambitious, within 4-5 years.
If you are a practical, commercially sharp sales leader who still loves the buzz of winning work and you want your next move to be about building something, not just running a function – this is one worth exploring.
