This is a different level of buying. Here you won’t just be sticking orders in – this is about securing supply across borders, dealing with manufacturers, navigating lead times, and keeping high-pressure projects moving in sectors that don’t hang around.
Data Centres and Energy Projects move quickly. Materials are often specialist. Demand is high. Therefore, when things get a bit tight it’s the buyer who steps up and can make a real difference. And that is where you come in.
You will be:
- Leading procurement on Civils, RC frame and groundwork packages for data centre / energy projects
- Building and managing a network of European suppliers (not just relying on the same UK contacts)
- Locking in production slots and securing materials ahead of demand
- Handling the realities of international procurement - logistics, timelines, regulations
- Acting as the link between European supply chains and UK project teams
This isn’t about sending enquiries and hoping for replies. It’s about knowing who to call, when to call them, and how to get things done when timelines are tight.
What we need to see:
- Experience buying within data centres, energy, power or similar heavy infrastructure
- Strong civils / RC frame / groundworks material knowledge
- Exposure to European supply chains (and ideally a few contacts you can pick up the phone to)
- Comfortable dealing with logistics, imports, and lead times outside the UK
- Someone who can think ahead, not just react
If you happen to speak another European language - great. If not, but you know how to operate internationally, that’s just as valuable.
This is for someone who wants a bit more stretch, because when these projects move. They really move.
