This role is for a Business Development Executive to join a great business, who have been plying their trade in Hertfordshire for over 40 years. This is a solid outfit who are not trying to reinvent themselves every five minutes and consistently delivering good work and building proper client relationships.
The Business Development Executive will be working alongside the senior team:
- Researching potential clients and opportunities (not just pulling lists… actually understanding where the work is)
- Supporting bids and proposals so they’re clear, well put together, and go out properly
- Keeping track of conversations, follow-ups, and relationships
- Helping the team stay organised when things inevitably get busy
You might already be in a BD / marketing / bid support role. Or maybe you’re in an admin / coordination position and getting pulled into this kind of work already.
Either way, you’ll need to be:
- Comfortable dealing with people (internally and externally)
- Organised without overcomplicating things
- Able to write clearly without turning everything into a corporate essay
- Genuinely interested in how construction businesses win work
Being honest… This role suits someone who enjoys being close to the front end of the business without having to “sell” all day, but you will be very much part of the process - not just watching it happen.
