Contract Manager / Quantity Surveyor | £75,000 - £85,000 | London | Main Contractor | Permanent

Not every role I work on fits neatly into a box……and this is one of them.

I am working with a well-established London main contractor who is looking for somebody equally as comfortable managing projects as they are keeping a close eye on the commercials.

You will typically be overseeing 3-5 projects at any one time, ranging from around £100k up to £1m.

The work is incredibly varied too, from commercial fit out and CAT A office refurbishments through to high-end residential refurbishments and restoration projects.

Established over 30 years ago, the business has built an excellent reputation delivering refurbishment and restoration projects for architects, building surveyors, managing agents and commercial clients across London.

This would suit someone who enjoys taking ownership.

You will be heavily involved in the day-to-day delivery of projects, managing programmes, subcontractors and client relationships, whilst also taking responsibility for the commercial side, ensuring projects are delivered profitably as well as successfully.

Therefore, we need somebody who

  • Has experience delivering refurbishment or fit out projects as a Main Contractor.
  • Is commercially aware and comfortable managing project finances.
  • Enjoys variety and can successfully manage several live projects at once.
  • Wants a role where they can genuinely influence project delivery rather than being confined to one discipline.

If you're currently a Project Quantity Surveyor with good project delivery experience looking for a broader role, or a Contracts Manager with a strong commercial background, this could be a really interesting opportunity.
