Your Role in our Mission: The Bid Director leads the Bid & Proposal Centre and is responsible for designing, governing, and continuously improving the end-to-end bid process.

As Bid Director, you will:

  • Lead a high-performing bid organisation: Provide leadership, coaching, and strategic direction to our Bid Managers.
  • Protect commercial integrity: Ensure all bids are commercially sound, deliverable, and aligned with brand, compliance, and financial frameworks.
  • Increase win rates: Drive improvements in bid strategy, content quality, and value positioning.
  • Be a trusted partner to Sales & Client Success: Support the Directors of Growth and Client Success to pursue competitive opportunities with confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the overarching bid strategy and ensure alignment with commercial and GTM priorities.
  • Implement robust governance across all bids, including go/no-go processes.
  • Create submission frameworks that support speed, consistency, and quality.
  • Work with Legal and Finance to protect commercial integrity, risk management, and compliance.
  • Lead a team of Bid Managers.
  • Provide coaching, development plans, and quality oversight.
  • Build a culture of excellence, ownership, and collaboration.
  • Oversee end-to-end bid management — scoping, storyboarding, drafting, review cycles, sign-off, and submission.
  • Ensure all proposals reflect Reward Gateway’s brand, value proposition, ROI framework, and differentiators.
  • Manage timelines and ensure cross-functional contributions are coordinated.
  • Own the bid content library, ensuring it is accurate, current, and value led.
  • Collaborate with Proposition Managers, Sales Enablement, and Marketing to ensure content and messaging alignment.
  • Elevate quality of writing, formatting, and storytelling.
  • Review win/loss data to identify trends and implement improvements.
  • Drive efficiency across the bid process using templates, automation, and tooling.
  • Run bid retrospectives and share insights with the commercial organisation.

Stakeholder Leadership:

  • Partner with Sales leadership on major pursuits and strategic opportunities.
  • Work closely with Public Sector specialists to navigate framework requirements.
  • Align with Implementation and Client Success on delivery feasibility.

Skills:

  • Proven experience in bid or proposal management, ideally in SaaS, technology, outsourcing, or a service-led environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a bid team or operating as a senior bid professional.
  • Strong understanding of public sector procurement frameworks.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills: clear, compelling, and precise.
  • Commercial acumen: understands pricing, value engineering, and delivery risk.
  • Project management proficiency: proven ability to run multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Leadership: coaches, motivates, and raises the standards of the team.
  • Attention to detail: zero-defect mentality on submissions.
  • Collaboration: works effectively with Sales, Product, Legal, and Client Success.
