We’re looking for a hands-on IT Manager to lead our UK-based System Administration team while owning the performance, reliability, and security of our IT infrastructure. Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure & Security, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our systems run smoothly, supporting business operations and enabling teams to work efficiently without disruption.
What you’ll be doing
- Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and develop a UK-based System Administration team
- Drive performance, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Oversee IT support delivery via Zendesk, ensuring high-quality service
- Infrastructure & Operations
- Manage and support core infrastructure including: Servers, routers, switches, Firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, Wireless networks and mobile devices
- Ensure high availability of systems and minimise downtime
- Monitor performance and proactively resolve issues
- Projects, Change & Improvements
- Manage incidents, change controls, and escalations
- Support project rollouts and infrastructure upgrades
- Drive automation and improve operational efficiency
- Maintain clear documentation and processes
- Security & Compliance
- Ensure systems meet security standards and best practices
- Support compliance with PCI-DSS and ISO27001
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience managing IT or infrastructure teams
- Strong technical knowledge across: Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, Firewalls), Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) & Windows 10/11, Hardware (servers, laptops, desktops)
- Experience supporting data centre and office-based environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills (technical and non-technical audiences)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Nice to have:
- Experience with IIS (8.0 / 10)
- Knowledge of PCI-DSS and ISO27001
