Role Summary
We’re looking for an experienced Head of Insights – Commerce Media to guide strategic decision-making across Reward's commerce media proposition, using Reward's unique purchase data and loyalty-tech capabilities to deliver measurable impact for retailers, brands, and partners. This is a leadership role within the Data and Insight Department, responsible for shaping the insights vision, scaling high-quality delivery, and embedding best-in-class measurement practices that demonstrate commercial value. You will lead a high-performing insights team, build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, and translate complex analysis into compelling narratives that influence investment decisions, media strategy, and growth priorities. Working in a highly data-rich environment, you will analyse extensive datasets covering billions of purchase payments and customer behaviours. You will partner closely with Product, Commercial, Marketing, Data and Technology teams to unlock new insight opportunities, develop scalable measurement frameworks, and raise the profile of Reward's insights capability internally and externally.
Main Responsibilities
- Insight Leadership & Strategy
- Own the Commerce Media insights strategy, aligned to Reward's commercial priorities and partner needs.
- Translate complex analytical outputs into commercially aligned insights that drive performance and growth across multiple markets.
- Build a strong understanding of retailer objectives to create insight agendas, learning plans, and measurement roadmaps.
- Marketing Measurement & Media Effectiveness
- Build and evolve a best-in-class marketing measurement practice, supported by Reward's data teams and platform capabilities.
- Champion a test-and-learn culture, ensuring measurement informs continuous optimisation and innovation.
- Design performance frameworks and KPIs that clearly link media inputs to business outcomes (e.g. sales uplift, retention, LTV).
- Data Analysis & Insight Generation
- Guide work on customer segmentation, behavioural profiling, and journey insights to refine targeting and proposition strategy.
- Ensure insights are robust, statistically sound, and grounded in strong analytical methodology and governance.
- Maintain high standards of data integrity, accuracy, and insight quality across all outputs.
- Build, lead and develop a high-performing insights function, creating opportunities for analysts and managers to grow their technical expertise, stakeholder confidence, and ownership.
- Set clear development pathways, coaching and mentoring team members while fostering a culture of curiosity, learning and high standards.
- Ensure resourcing and staffing across projects is effective, balancing speed, quality, and commercial impact.
- Stakeholder & Client Partnership
- Build strong, trusted partnerships with senior client stakeholders, guiding them through evolving commerce media and measurement opportunities.
- Work closely with Sales and Commercial teams to support pitching, solution design, and ensuring projects are appropriately scoped and positioned.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Data Science, Technology, and partner teams to deliver integrated insight solutions.
- Thought Leadership & Growth
- Monitor market trends, customer behaviour shifts, and competitor activity to produce high-impact thought leadership.
- Raise the profile of Reward's insights capability externally through insight narratives that demonstrate differentiation and measurable outcomes.
- Identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and new insight propositions that expand Reward's commerce media impact.
Requirements
- Experience
- Significant experience in insights, analytics, measurement, or marketing effectiveness, ideally within commerce media, retail media, loyalty, advertising, performance marketing, or consumer insights.
- Proven track record of translating complex datasets into clear, actionable recommendations that drive commercial growth.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Skills
- Experience leading multi-market programmes and/or complex cross-functional initiatives is highly desirable.
- Proven people leadership experience, including coaching, developing, and scaling high-performing teams.
- Confident engaging both strategic stakeholders and technical specialists, with strong consultative and influencing skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to create compelling narratives and present confidently at senior level.
- Analytical & Commercial Capability
- Strong analytical mindset with excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Commercial mindset with the ability to connect insight work directly to business outcomes (revenue, sales uplift, retention, LTV).
- Experience with key analytical approaches such as: Attribution and incrementality, Funnel and cohort analysis, Customer segmentation and profiling, LTV and churn analysis, Experimentation / A-B testing and conversion optimisation.
- Experience with marketing measurement methods such as MMM, MTA, brand lift, or econometrics is a strong advantage.
- Technical Skills
- Analytics Tools: Proficiency in Excel and SQL; experience with Python or R for analysis and modelling is beneficial.
- Data Visualisation: Experience using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar to create interactive dashboards and insight storytelling outputs.
- Statistical Analysis: Familiarity with regression, clustering, forecasting, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.
- Market Research Tools (desirable): Familiarity with survey tools (e.g. Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey) and qualitative research methods (e.g. interviews, focus groups).
- Reporting Tools: Confident producing insight packs, performance reports, and stakeholder-ready presentations using PowerPoint and/or Google Slides.
