The Role

The System Administration team’s (Infra-SysOps or SA as most people know) responsibilities are to maintain, upgrade and manage Reward’s software, hardware and information networks (including Data centre and office network LANs). At the heart of this job is an appreciation and dedication to looking after the daily BAU IT needs of 200+ staff at present. A core part of this role is to ensure Reward Belfast office based staff how no IT friction and or blockers in order to carry out their job and duties.

Pro-active and resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. The role holder should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. They must have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users.

The role holder’s goal will be to ensure that Reward’s technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently, maintaining SLA’s and quality uptime. Staff are Rewards biggest assets, they can’t have any blockers or IT impediments stopping them from been efficient and effective at carrying out their duties, a key part of this role is ensuring that staff feel IT empowered and happy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Onsite Belfast office 3 days per week (rota with other team members)
  • Occasionally may need to travel to London office and or London Datacentre to support (adhoc)
  • IT Support (ZenDesk) – Proactive Daily monitoring and actioning of tickets is vital to a smooth painfree IT systems and processes
  • Managing, tracking and trouble-shooting issues, change controls, and live fault escalations
  • Staff assistance and support for all IT system related queries (ZenDesk IT Helpdesk system)
  • Improving process development, documentation and knowledge dissemination
  • Improving system & automating repetitive jobs
  • Liaise closely with internal contacts
  • Liaising with suppliers and ordering hardware, software and consumables when required
  • Information security – Assisting in ensuring the Security of all IT systems in compliance with our PCI-DSS & ISO27001 Information Security certifications

Required Expertise, Experience & Key Skills

  • General knowledge with basic network understanding, including TCP/IP, DNS and other Internet related technologies.
  • The ability to support Windows Server 2019, 2022, Windows 10-11 desktop platforms to a very good level, Mac OSX is also desirable experience
  • Some hardware support knowledge – Laptops, Desktops
  • Some experience with network routing, switches, WiFi Access points (WIFI) in Office based setups
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, problem solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Bonus points for strong understanding of PCI-DSS compliance skills
  • Bonus points for strong understanding of ISO27001 compliance
  • Plenty of initiative and ability to work in high change environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication (to internal staff or internal stake holders)
  • Strong team and collaboration skills
  • Good work and task planning abilities / time management
  • Able to work autonomously and learn quickly
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Willing to learn new skills and happy to take on new challenges
