Our mobile development team is expanding, and we have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Engineer. We are looking for someone who is passionate about creating high-quality mobile experiences and is comfortable balancing hands-on technical delivery and leadership with mentoring a small team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing solutions, participating in design reviews, recommending improvements, and fostering consensus through clear communication and your strong technical skills to support your recommendations.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality mobile applications using React Native.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Design, and Backend Engineering, to ensure seamless integration of new features and improvements in our mobile applications using Typescript and React Native.
- Continuously improve the user experience of our mobile applications.
- Work in a team environment with shared code, ensuring disciplined use of source code control and process documentation.
- Identify, analyse, and resolve performance bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the mobile application codebase.
- Write and maintain comprehensive unit tests and documentation for the project.
- Mentor junior developers and actively participate in code reviews to maintain a high standard of code quality for mobile applications.
- Stay informed on mobile development trends, tooling, and best practices.
- 6+ years of development experience building mobile applications in React Native with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical lead role.
- Experience developing large-scale business-critical SaaS applications.
- In-depth knowledge of the React and React Native frameworks.
- Excellent programming skills in JavaScript, preferably with TypeScript and GraphQL experience.
- A good understanding of the Android and iOS platforms.
- Experience with frontend testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tooling.
- Understanding of mobile UI/UX best practices and principles.
- Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

We offer a flexible hybrid work mode with a requirement to be in the London office twice per week. Salary budget for the role is £95,000 - £100,000 gross per year, excluding company benefits. Kindly note that we do not currently offer a performance bonus or equity shares.
The Interview Process:Online interview with the Senior Talent Partner, Engineering Lead, and Head of Frontend. This should last no longer than 45 minutes. Final video interview of 75 minutes consisting of 3 stages. This includes: 45 minutes to discuss your experience, technical abilities, and team management skills; 15 minutes to review and discuss a coding exercise; and 15 minutes to discuss questions you may have.
