As the Head of Quality Assurance, you will lead the QA function and ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable and scalable software across Reward Gateway|Edenred’s product ecosystem. This role focuses on shaping quality practices, strengthening test automation, and guiding the QA team. You will partner closely with engineering and product teams to embed quality into every stage of the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities and Core Duties

  • Quality Strategy and Delivery Excellence
    • Define and implement a comprehensive quality strategy for the QA function that supports engineering and product goals.
    • Ensure consistent testing standards and practices across teams.
    • Promote early involvement of QA throughout the development lifecycle and encourage shared ownership of quality within engineering squads.
  • Automation and Technical Enablement
    • Lead the development and optimisation of test automation frameworks.
    • Drive the adoption of automation-first thinking across UI, API, and performance testing.
    • Introduce and evaluate new tools and AI-enabled testing solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Process Improvement
    • Identify gaps or inefficiencies in current QA and automation practices.
    • Improve test planning, regression coverage, and release readiness processes.
    • Contribute to continuous integration and continuous testing initiatives.
  • Quality Metrics and Reporting
    • Define and track key metrics such as defect trends, automation coverage, release quality and test execution.
    • Provide clear and concise reporting to engineering leadership and product managers. Use insights to drive improvements within the QA function.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with product, engineering and delivery teams to align testing activities with sprint goals.
    • Ensure QA input is incorporated into planning, grooming and release discussions.
    • Communicate risks, testing status and quality expectations clearly to stakeholders.
    • Work with stakeholders across product and engineering to drive a cultural change towards quality within the business.
  • Risk and Issue Management
    • Identify quality risks early in the development cycle.
    • Recommend mitigation and testing approaches to reduce defects and production issues.
    • Ensure thorough regression and exploratory testing for each release.
  • Tools and Environment Management
    • Ensure QA teams have the right tools, frameworks and environments to deliver effectively.
    • Evaluate new technologies and practices that enhance quality and productivity.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Proven experience as a Head of QA, building and scaling QA functions in a global organisation.
  • Experience in leading transformational change within QA teams, promoting a culture of quality ownership.
  • Strong leadership and operational skills.
  • Ability to define and evolve QA practices, tooling, and frameworks.
  • Skilled in performance management, hiring, and team growth.
  • Deep understanding of test automation, CI/CD, quality metrics and modern SDLC practices.
  • Experience with compliance, risk, or security testing protocols.
  • Experience evaluating and implementing AI-based solutions within QA.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a practical approach to quality strategy.
  • Ability to thrive in an agile, fast-paced environment.
  • Confidence working with Engineering and Product leadership.
