Job Description

Research Scientist (Diffusion Models)

London – AI Start-up

Up to £190,000 Shares (worth up to 1.5mil) Private Healthcare Pension

We’re working with a well-funded AI start-up in London that’s gearing up for huge growth. They’re expecting to scale 10x over the next 18 months.

They’re now looking for a research scientist / research engineer with deep expertise in diffusion models, ideally with hands-on experience in large-scale training of image and/or video models. You’ll be joining a world-class technical team at the cutting edge of generative AI, working directly with the CTO and other senior researchers to push the boundaries of what’s possible in visual intelligence.

The role

This isn’t your average research position – you’ll be working on core problems in diffusion-based generative modelling, contributing both to the research literature and to production-scale systems. You’ll design and implement novel architectures, scale training runs across large distributed systems, and collaborate with engineers to bring state-of-the-art models into real-world applications.

With strong backing and serious compute resources, this is a rare opportunity to lead groundbreaking research while seeing your work have immediate impact.

The role is full-time, 5 days a week in their London office.

What they’re looking for

  • A PhD in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or a related field
  • Publications at top-tier conferences (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR)
  • Deep expertise in diffusion models and generative modelling
  • Hands-on experience with large-scale training of image and/or video models
  • Ideally, experience contributing to a large-scale training effort beyond academia
  • A self-starter with the drive to push research into production

What’s on offer

  • Up to £190,000 salary
  • Significant equity package, worth up to 1.5mil
  • Direct line into the CTO and collaboration with world-class researchers
  • Access to substantial compute resources to support ambitious research
  • A chance to shape the future of generative AI at scale
