An ambitious fintech scale-up in Manchester is looking for a Head of Cloud Infrastructure to lead and scale its cloud operations. This is a high-impact role, ideal for a cloud specialist who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

The role:

• Spearheading cloud strategy, architecture, and operations to ensure a resilient and scalable infrastructure
• Leading a team of 4-5 engineers, fostering collaboration, mentorship, and technical excellence
• Overseeing AWS environments, optimizing performance, security, and cost efficiency
• Managing GitLab for CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless deployment processes
• Implementing Terraform to drive infrastructure as code and automation
• Navigating on-premise systems, ensuring seamless integration with cloud solutions
• Establishing best practices in DevSecOps, ensuring security is embedded into infrastructure
• Collaborating with engineering and product teams to align cloud infrastructure with business goals

Required skills:

• Strong leadership experience, with a track record of mentoring and developing teams
• Expertise in cloud architecture and operations, particularly in AWS
• Deep technical proficiency in GitLab, Terraform, CI/CD, and automation
• Experience with hybrid cloud solutions, balancing on-premise and cloud infrastructure
• Knowledge of networking, security best practices, and site reliability engineering (SRE) principles
• Ability to drive innovation, optimize infrastructure, and improve operational efficiency
• A strategic mindset, capable of shaping long-term cloud strategies in a fintech environment
