Salary: £75,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements

  • Commercial experience in a Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering role
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
  • Experience managing Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or container platforms such as Azure Container Apps
  • Strong experience with Docker and containerisation technologies
  • Expertise with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
  • Strong experience building and maintaining Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
  • Solid scripting skills with PowerShell
  • Experience supporting or administering Azure SQL or Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tooling
  • Good understanding of cloud networking, security, identity, and platform automation
  • Excellent communication skills with a collaborative mindset
  • Ability to solve complex problems, improve platforms, and continuously learn

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable Azure infrastructure using Terraform with an Infrastructure as Code-first approach
  • Manage and optimise Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and containerised workloads using Azure Container Apps or similar container platforms
  • Build, manage, and optimise Docker images and containerised application deployments
  • Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to enable faster and more reliable software delivery
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployments, and operational tasks using PowerShell
  • Work closely with software engineering teams to improve developer experience, deployment processes, and platform reliability
  • Support and optimise Azure SQL environments, ensuring performance, availability, and security
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions to improve platform performance and resilience
  • Champion cloud security, governance, and automation best practices across the Azure estate
  • Contribute to the evolution of our Platform Engineering strategy and cloud roadmap
  • Mentor engineers and share knowledge across the wider technology team
