We are looking for a Packaging Designer to join our fast-paced packaging team on a maternity cover basis and to work across all our global brands. Your role will be designing packaging and producing artwork across all brands. You will work closely with the senior packaging designer to bring new ideas to life and to maintain brand consistency. We are looking for someone passionate about beauty and up to date with all the trends within the industry, someone who has lots of ideas and can really make an impact within the team. The role is fast-paced, ever-changing and requires a team member who is confident, resilient and self-sufficient. Working to tight deadlines at speed, whilst maintaining a high level of design and a keen eye for detail.
What You’ll Do
- Work closely with the Senior Packaging Designer to support on big stakeholder requests.
- Create innovative packaging design to suit our brand and consumers.
- Support and create on artworks according to brief, in line with agreed guidelines and within agreed timescales.
- Create, design, proof, edit, amend and update artwork across all brands as necessary.
- Effectively manage workload and stakeholder expectations whenever appropriate according to project priorities.
- Be confident to propose new ideas and designs to elevate our brand and continue to evolve our packaging to suit current trends.
- Liaise with printers/factories on a regular basis to discuss designs and how they can be achieved through print.
- Undertake ad hoc projects as and when required to meet the needs of the business.
- Assist colleagues and support the Company generally, through undertaking additional duties and tasks from time to time as and when required.
What You’ll Have
- Between 2-4 years’ experience in the beauty packaging industry.
- Be passionate about the beauty industry and have a real interest in packaging.
- A great eye for detail and consistency.
- The ability to create designs at a high standard in Adobe Illustrator, using the 3D capabilities.
- Experience in 3D software.
- Experience in print design and creating artworks to a high print spec.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Ability to be organised and capable of juggling numerous projects at one time.
- A confident person, who has resilience and great initiative.
- Someone who can lead design ideas and have confidence in presenting.
- Confidence in taking ownership and responsibility for what they are working on.
- Strong collaborative skills, able to work with cross-functional teams and provide clear feedback on creative direction.
- Most importantly being a team player, being flexible and enthusiastic with helping to achieve deadlines.
