Become a certified Automation Tester for one of the world’s biggest banks! Interested in using your Java, Python, or Golang knowledge in an exciting new sector? Then, this paid training and placement opportunity with Revolent is for you.

We’re looking for professionals with a background in Java, Python, or Golang and experience writing and/or running tests, who want to cross-train as an Automation Tester on a two-year program that includes paid training and work placement with some of the best name brands in the sector.

The opportunity

Over 10 weeks, we’ll provide you with the initial training you’ll need to get you up to speed with all things automation testing. We’ll then place you with our client, to give you that all-important work experience that will help you stand out in the jobs market. Plus, as part of our commitment to creating incredible talent, we’ll provide you with a tailored learning and development plan and career development coach, to help you become the best at what you do.

Once you’re trained and certified, you’ll work as an Automation Tester or Engineer with one (or more) of our clients. Your role could include:

  • Creating scalable testing solutions and automating testing
  • Performing manual testing
  • Scripting and running tests
  • Documentation of testing best practices
  • Interacting with core business stakeholders and delivering testing solutions that meet our client’s needs

Who we’re looking for

To apply for this program, you’ll need previous experience working as a manual tester or QA analyst in an Agile environment. You will also need to evidence knowledge of Java, Python, or Golang. Candidates from the Financial Services or Banking sectors are highly desirable, but experience in these industries is not essential.

Ideally, candidates will be able to demonstrate experience with at least some of the following:

  • Experience in a role that revolves around business processes and functions
  • Experience of manual testing and writing/running tests
  • Knowledge of automation testing and experience with Selenium, Cucumber, or other testing tools
  • Any exposure to (or experience of) writing test scripts is beneficial, but not essential
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools
  • Experience with Jenkins (CI/CD)

You’ll also need to be an excellent communicator, collaborator, and problem solver, and dedicated to learning your new skill set.

To apply for this program, you’ll also need to be:

  • Willing to commit to a minimum of two years’ working with Revolent, post training
  • Living within a commutable distance of Glasgow
  • This is a hybrid role, so successful candidates will be expected to commute to the office for at least 2 days a week
  • Able to commit to 40 hours per week, post training
