We are currently recruiting experienced IT professionals to cross train as Software Developer, and subsequently place at our client, one of the biggest banks in the Finance Industry. This is an amazing opportunity to join a large Finance organization and create a real impact by becoming part of their unique journey.

The Role

As a trained Software Developer, your role could involve:

  • Design and implement scalable and robust data pipelines to support analytics and data processing needs.
  • Understanding customer requirements and project KPIs
  • Implementing various development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure
  • Planning the team structure and activities and involvement in project management activities.
  • Managing stakeholders and external interfaces
  • Setting up tools and required infrastructure
  • Defining and setting development, testing, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation
  • Have the technical skills to review, verify, and validate the software code developed in the project
  • Troubleshooting techniques and fixing the code bugs

Plus, we’ll also equip you with a tailored learning and development plan, and your very own personal success coach who will work with you throughout your two years with us.

What we are looking for

To apply for this program, you’ll need:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years experience in Software Development using Java or Python
  • JDBC/ Spring framework knowledge
  • Working knowledge of Microservices, CI and unit test frameworks, ORM technologies (Hibernate), JSON, SQL
  • Proven knowledge of XML and related technologies
  • Proven experience of Quality Assurance techniques relevant to application development
  • Experience working in an AGILE or SCRUM SDLC model and ability to work within a global team

You’ll also need to be:

  • Willing to commit to a minimum of two years working with Revolent, post-training (with the possibility of converting to the client’s permanent headcount, following the successful completion of your work placement)
  • Able to commute to Glasgow in Scotland

This is a hybrid role with a mix of office based and remote work. Successful applicants will be required to travel to our client’s office in Glasgow at their request for 2-3 days a week, although the client is prepared to be flexible for people who live further afield or have personal commitments that prevent them from commuting frequently.
