An FCA-authorised Electronic Money Institution (EMI) is seeking an experienced Managing Director to lead the next phase of its growth under new ownership. This is a unique opportunity to take full executive responsibility for a regulated payments business, driving commercial performance, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and strategic expansion.
Reporting to the Board, the successful candidate will lead the organisation through a transformation and growth phase, with full accountability for profitability, governance, regulatory relationships, and business development.
Key Responsibilities- Business Leadership & Strategy
- Define and execute the company's growth strategy across international payments and foreign exchange markets.
- Drive revenue growth, customer acquisition, and expansion into new markets and payment corridors.
- Develop strategic partnerships with fintechs, corporates, payment providers, and financial institutions.
- Own the overall P&L and deliver a clear path to sustainable profitability.
- Regulatory & Risk Management
- Act as the primary senior executive responsible for regulatory engagement and compliance.
- Maintain strong relationships with the FCA, banking partners, and other key stakeholders.
- Ensure robust governance, risk management, AML, KYC, and financial crime controls.
- Oversee safeguarding, capital, and liquidity requirements within a regulated environment.
