A leading global organisation is seeking an experienced EDI Engineer to join its Digital & Data function within the EMEA region. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys complex integration challenges, modern API-driven design, and working across multiple business and technical teams.
Salary: Competitive
Location: Hybrid - London (1/2 days a week)
Boomi experience is a MUST
You will play a key role in supporting two major initiatives:
- Onboarding a new EDI platform
- Delivering a large-scale e-Invoicing compliance programme
What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain EDI mappings, workflows, and partner integrations
- Design and implement APIs for orders, shipments, invoices, and related documents
- Support and maintain integrations across OMS, ERP, supply chain, logistics partners, and external services
- Troubleshoot EDI/API transactions and stabilise new integrations as they go live
- Translate business requirements into technical specs using JSON, XML, SQL, and API standards
- Ensure compliance with regional e-Invoicing regulations and evolving mandates
- Onboard new trading partners and manage end-to-end testing and validation
- Produce technical documentation, mapping specifications, partner profiles, and API documentation
- Identify opportunities for automation and integration efficiency improvements
Key Challenges in Year One
- Rapidly learning a complex integration landscape and middleware environment
- Supporting multiple parallel onboarding streams with tight deadlines
- Keeping up with changing e-Invoicing compliance rules across regions
- Diagnosing and resolving transaction-level issues during new go-lives
- Collaborating with diverse business and IT teams across EMEA
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of EDI standards: ANSI X12, EDIFACT, XML, AS2
- Boomi hands-on experience (must-have)
- Experience working with EDI platforms and partner onboarding
- Solid understanding of HTTP, OAuth2, JWT, and API lifecycle management
- Proficiency in SQL, XML, JSON, and scripting
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in integration environments
- Familiarity with supply chain, logistics, O2C and P2P processes
- Experience with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to prioritise multiple workstreams and meet tight deadlines
‘Nice to Have’ Skills
- Strong integration mapping expertise
- Experience designing scalable, modern integration patterns (API, event-driven, cloud-based)
- Ability to support growth into additional partners and message types
