Information Technology Support Engineer

Location: Newcastle (On Site). Type: Permanent (£20,000 to £25,000 depending on experience). Level: Junior/Entry/1st Line/Early Career. Sponsorship NOT available. UK Citizen required.

An exciting opportunity for a passionate Junior IT Support Engineer to join a growing technology team and gain hands-on experience across IT support, systems administration, and DevOps.

The Role

You’ll be the first point of contact for IT support across the business, managing staff onboarding/offboarding, troubleshooting devices, and maintaining networks and systems. Over time, you’ll have the chance to develop skills in DevOps and infrastructure engineering — supporting automation, containerisation, and cloud projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day IT support (laptops, software, peripherals)
• Manage staff onboarding/offboarding and permissions
• Maintain local networks, servers, and backups
• Support company hardware, software licences, and renewals
• Shadow and assist DevOps engineers on automation and cloud projects

What We’re Looking For

• Basic knowledge of Mac, Linux, and Windows environments
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls)
• Awareness of server technologies (on-prem and cloud)
• Enthusiasm and Passion for computing, problem-solving, and learning new tech
• Strong communication, organisation, and teamwork skills
• Willingness to learn
• Ideally you will have a degree in information technology or similar
