We're partnering with an innovative organisation operating at the forefront of autonomous systems. As they continue to expand their Data & AI capabilities, they're looking for a Data & ML Platform Engineer to help build and evolve the infrastructure that powers data processing, machine learning, and next-generation autonomous solutions.

The Role

You’ll sit at the intersection of Platform Engineering, Data Engineering, and MLOps, helping to design, build, and maintain a modern Data & AI Platform. Working closely with Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and Platform Teams, you’ll be responsible for creating scalable infrastructure, developing robust data pipelines, enabling ML workflows, and driving platform reliability and automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain scalable data and machine learning infrastructure
  • Build and optimise data pipelines for large-scale data processing
  • Support model deployment, monitoring, and MLOps workflows
  • Manage cloud-native platforms and containerised environments
  • Implement observability, monitoring, and alerting solutions
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code and automation frameworks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data-driven initiatives
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the organisation's Data & AI Platform

Skills & Experience

We're interested in engineers with experience across several of the following areas:

  • Programming & Development: Python, Go, Java, or Rust
  • Google Cloud Platform (preferred), AWS, or Azure
  • Kubernetes and Docker in production environments
  • Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Ansible
  • SQL databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server
  • Data modelling and data warehousing
  • Large-scale data processing with Spark
  • Workflow orchestration using Airflow
  • Machine learning deployment and monitoring
  • MLOps tooling and automation
  • CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices

Observability & Reliability:

  • Grafana
  • Loki
  • ELK Stack
  • Monitoring, telemetry, and platform performance optimisation

About You

  • 3+ years' experience in Data Engineering, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, MLOps, or a related field
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced engineering environment
  • Passionate about building scalable, reliable, and automated platforms
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Security Requirements

Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible to obtain SC Clearance. This typically requires having lived in the UK continuously for the last 5 years.
