We are looking for caring, reliable and motivated Children’s Residential Support Workers to join our team supporting children and young people in a residential care setting. The role involves providing a safe, stable and nurturing environment where young people can develop confidence, life skills and positive relationships. You will work as part of a team to support children with their day-to-day needs, promote their independence, and help them achieve positive outcomes in line with their care plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality care and support to children and young people living in the home.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with the young people and act as a positive role model.
  • Support young people with daily routines including education, activities, appointments and personal development.
  • Encourage and support the development of life skills, independence and emotional wellbeing.
  • Promote a safe and supportive environment that meets the individual needs of each child.
  • Work in partnership with colleagues, families, social workers and other professionals.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and ensure the safety and welfare of all young people at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports and documentation as required.
  • Support young people to participate in activities, hobbies and community engagement.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the home including household tasks such as cooking, cleaning and organising activities.

Requirements

  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible to work shifts including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.
  • Full UK driving licence is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children or in a care setting is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
