Revive EYFS Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a warm and welcoming nursery in Newcastle upon Tyne for an experienced Level 3 Practitioner with Room Leader experience. This well‑established nursery currently cares for around 50 children across three age groups (0-2 years, 2-3 years and Pre‑School) and has built a strong reputation for providing high‑quality childcare within a nurturing, engaging and child‑centred environment.
With a team of 14 experienced and dedicated staff members, this is an excellent opportunity to join a close‑knit nursery that values teamwork, wellbeing and professional development. The nursery enjoys providing enriching experiences for children through outdoor learning, messy play, community visits, beach trips, outdoor cinema experiences and visits to local sensory and soft play facilities. Staff are encouraged to be hands‑on, creative and actively involved in creating memorable learning opportunities for children.
The Opportunity
As a Room Leader, you will play a key role in supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing while leading by example within the room. You will help to create a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment where children can thrive and develop confidence through play and exploration. You will be joining a nursery that genuinely invests in its team, offering regular one‑to‑one support meetings, a mentoring scheme and ongoing professional development opportunities through Newcastle City Council and Noodle training programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the day‑to‑day running of the room
- Plan, deliver and evaluate engaging activities in line with the EYFS
- Observe, assess and monitor children’s progress and development
- Maintain accurate learning journeys and development records
- Support children’s emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour
- Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers
- Support and mentor junior team members where required
- Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times
- Contribute to outdoor learning opportunities and enrichment activities
- Support daily care routines and promote high standards throughout the setting
What We’re Looking For
- Level 3 Early Years qualification (essential)
- Previous Room Leader experience & Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection practice
- SENCO experience or knowledge would be highly desirable
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with a Positive, caring and professional approach
- Ability to work collaboratively within a close‑knit team
- Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one
