Baby Room Leader – Progression to Third in Charge
Location: Middlewich, Cheshire
Pay: £14.75 per hour – approximately £30,680 per year
Hours: 40 hours per week
Working Pattern: Four longer days with one weekday off or five shorter days
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

Revive Recruitment is partnering with a well-established, family-owned nursery in Middlewich to recruit a caring and confident Baby Room Leader.
The position offers a supported pathway into Third in Charge responsibilities, making it an ideal opportunity for an experienced Room Leader who would like to progress into nursery management.
You do not need previous Third in Charge experience. The nursery is happy to consider a strong Room Leader with the right experience, leadership potential and passion for providing exceptional care.
About the Nursery
This welcoming nursery has a long-standing reputation for providing high-quality care and education to children from birth to five years.
The nursery cares for approximately 88 children across four rooms and has a dedicated team of around 18 staff. It provides a warm, homely environment where every child feels safe, valued and inspired to learn.
The setting has also begun its Curiosity Approach Accreditation journey, placing creativity, exploration and child-led learning at the heart of its practice.
The Role
- Lead and support the baby-room team while maintaining consistently high standards.
- Provide individualised care that supports each baby’s routines, development and emotional wellbeing.
- Plan engaging learning experiences in line with the EYFS.
- Oversee observations, assessments and children’s next steps.
- Build positive relationships with parents, carers and colleagues.
- Maintain excellent safeguarding, welfare, health and safety practices.
- Work alongside the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager while gradually developing wider Third in Charge responsibilities.
About You
- A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification, or above.
- Strong experience caring for babies or children under two.
- Previous senior practitioner or Room Leader experience.
- A good understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding requirements.
- The confidence to guide, motivate and support other practitioners.
- Strong communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.
- The right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS, or a willingness to obtain one.
Previous Third in Charge experience would be welcomed but is not essential.
