This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Senior Practitioner, Room Leader or existing Deputy Manager who is ready to take on a rewarding leadership role within a supportive and child-centred environment.

Working closely alongside an experienced and long-standing Manager, you'll help shape the daily life of the nursery, support a dedicated team and play an important role in ensuring every child receives exceptional care, learning opportunities and encouragement to thrive.

The Role

As Deputy Manager, you'll combine hands-on practice with leadership responsibilities, supporting both the operational and educational aspects of the nursery. You'll work alongside the Manager to maintain high standards across the provision, mentor and support colleagues, contribute to staff development and ensure the nursery continues to provide a safe, stimulating and inspiring environment for children aged 2–5 years. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys leading by example, building strong relationships and helping others succeed.

About the Setting

The nursery is a well-established, community-focused provision caring for 32 children across two rooms. Supported by a dedicated team of six staff members, the setting offers a welcoming atmosphere where collaboration, consistency and positive relationships are at the heart of daily practice. Children benefit from a nurturing environment that promotes curiosity, confidence and school readiness, while staff enjoy a supportive culture that encourages professional growth and teamwork.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking an experienced Early Years professional with strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding requirements and high-quality nursery practice. You'll be confident supporting and motivating colleagues, building positive relationships with families and contributing to the smooth running of the setting. Previous experience in a senior leadership capacity within an Early Years environment will be highly advantageous. A relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above is essential.
