THE ROLE

This role is both strategic and hands on and sits at the heart of the business. As Finance Director, you will be fully accountable for the financial performance, governance and support commercial decision making of the group across the UK, US and international markets. You will act as a trusted partner to the founders and senior leadership team, providing clarity, challenge and insight to support rapid but controlled growth. You will own financial planning, forecasting, reporting, cash flow management and commercial analysis, ensuring the business scales profitably while maintaining strong financial discipline. You will oversee all finance operations, including management accounts, statutory reporting, tax, audit, controls and systems. You will lead and develop a high-calibre finance function and work closely with external advisors across audit, tax, banking and legal. You will be comfortable operating at board level while remaining close to the detail. You will move confidently between long term strategic planning and day to day execution, with a strong focus on cash, margin, working capital and risk management. As the business continues to expand internationally, you will play a key role in supporting new market entry, entity structuring, FX exposure, transfer pricing and regulatory compliance. You will also contribute to funding strategy, lender and investor relationships. The role will be based in either our London HQ in Mayfair or our Bristol office, with a requirement to be in the office a minimum of three days per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leading the overall financial strategy of the group in alignment with business growth objectives
  • Owning group budgeting, forecasting and long range financial planning across all markets
  • Providing clear commercial insight on revenue, margin, EBITDA, cash flow and working capital
  • Partnering with the founders and leadership team to support strategic decision making
  • Overseeing monthly management accounts and board level reporting with accuracy and pace
  • Ensuring robust financial controls, governance and risk management frameworks are in place
  • Managing cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning and banking relationships
  • Leading funding activity including debt facilities, investor reporting and due diligence processes
  • Overseeing statutory accounts, audits, tax compliance and regulatory reporting across entities
  • Supporting international expansion, including entity management, FX management and transfer pricing
  • Driving financial governance and performance across international markets, with specific responsibility for the US, coordinating closely with outsourced finance, tax and legal functions
  • Driving margin improvement initiatives across D2C, retail, wholesale and subscription channels
  • Working closely with Ecommerce, Marketing, Operations and Retail teams to evaluate commercial performance
  • Leading pricing, cost modelling and promotional profitability analysis
  • Ensuring finance systems, processes and reporting scale effectively with the business
  • Building and developing a high performing finance function with strong accountability and capability
  • Managing relationships with auditors, tax advisors, banks and external consultants

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Significant experience operating at Finance Director or senior finance leadership level
  • Experience operating at Finance Director level within a business with a minimum £30m+ global annual turnover, with exposure to continued scale beyond this level
  • Proven experience in a high growth founder led environment, with the ability to bring structure, pace and commercial discipline without slowing momentum
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence founders and senior stakeholders
  • Proven track record within high growth consumer, D2C or retail led businesses
  • Experience managing multi entity and international group structures
  • Deep understanding of cash flow, working capital and margin management
  • Experience with fundraising, debt facilities or investor reporting preferred
  • Strong technical finance background including statutory reporting and financial controls
  • Highly analytical with the ability to translate numbers into clear commercial insight
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with modern finance systems and scalable reporting tools
  • Background in beauty, wellness, FMCG or adjacent consumer categories advantageous
