We’re working with a software business operating in the tax technology and regulatory reporting space. Their products support finance, tax and compliance teams with complex reporting workflows, digital tagging, filing validation, iXBRL/ESEF, structured financial reporting and regulatory portal solutions. They are now looking for a Product Executive to join the product team and support the delivery of product improvements across their regulatory reporting and digital tagging product suite.

This is a good opportunity for someone early in their product career, or someone from a Business Analyst, tax technology, digital reporting, implementation or reporting systems background who wants to move closer to product.

The role

You’ll work closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, subject matter experts and development teams to help turn customer, regulatory and operational requirements into clear product actions. The products sit in a detailed, deadline-driven environment, so this role suits someone organised, analytical and comfortable working with structured information, reporting processes and business-critical software. You’ll support with gathering requirements, documenting user needs, maintaining product information, helping shape user stories, tracking bugs and features, supporting testing and making sure internal teams understand upcoming product changes.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting the product team across regulatory reporting and digital tagging products
  • Helping gather and document requirements from internal teams, customers and subject matter experts
  • Writing or supporting user stories, acceptance criteria, product notes and process documentation
  • Working with development teams to clarify requirements and support delivery
  • Helping manage and prioritise bugs, product improvements and small feature requests
  • Supporting UAT, release testing and product sign-off activities
  • Helping communicate product updates to Customer Success, Support, Sales and other internal teams
  • Supporting product adoption by ensuring teams understand what has changed and why
  • Working with structured data, reporting workflows and validation processes
  • Building a strong understanding of tax technology, regulatory reporting, digital tagging, iXBRL and ESEF

What we’re looking for

You do not need years of Product Owner experience. The key thing is that you have worked close to systems, data, reporting, requirements or software delivery. Relevant backgrounds could include:

  • Product Executive
  • Product Analyst
  • Junior Product Owner
  • Business Analyst
  • Implementation Consultant
  • Tax Technology Consultant
  • Digital Reporting Consultant
  • Reporting Analyst with systems exposure

You’ll ideally bring experience in some of the following:

  • Requirements gathering or process documentation
  • UAT, testing, bug tracking or release support
  • Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps or similar tools
  • Working with development, product, implementation or technical teams
  • Regulatory reporting, tax reporting, statutory reporting or financial reporting
  • iXBRL, XBRL, ESEF, digital tagging, filing validation or structured reporting
  • Strong Excel, data analysis or data validation skills
  • Working in a detail-heavy environment with deadlines and multiple stakeholders
