Revision Genie is a revision platform used by students and teachers, with AI-powered tools including lesson slide generation.We're looking for a support agent to be the friendly, reliable voice our users hear when they need help.You'll support students, parents, teachers and schools by email and chat.Fully remote on a zero-hours contract: hours vary with demand and you're free to accept or decline the work offered.Typically working on a weekly task list, with hours rising during busy periods such as exam season.
What you will do
- Answer support queries from students, parents, teachers and schools by live chat / help desk tool.
- Troubleshoot account, login, billing and subscription issues and see them through to resolution.
- Help teachers get set up, including adding classes and using the slides and revision tools.
- Reproduce and clearly report bugs to the development team, then follow up with the user once fixed.
- Write and update help articles and FAQs so users can find answers themselves.
- Spot recurring problems and pass on feedback that shapes what we build next.
- Handle personal data carefully and in line with UK GDPR.
What we are looking for
- Excellent written English with a warm, clear and patient tone.
- Previous experience in customer support or a similar customer-facing role.
- Confident with web apps and able to work out technical problems methodically.
- Reliable and self-organised: you can manage your own time without supervision.
- Comfortable communicating with both teenagers and busy professionals.
- Happy with variable hours and able to pick up extra work at short notice during busy periods.
- A reliable internet connection and a quiet place to work.
- Based in the UK with the right to work here.
Nice to have
- Experience in education, tutoring or edtech.
- Familiarity with the UK school system and exam boards (GCSE, A-level).
- Experience with help desk tools such as Intercom / Zendesk / Help Scout / Crisp.
- Experience handling billing queries through Stripe.
- Availability during evenings, weekends or exam season, when students are most active.
