We are bringing together a world-class team - forestry experts, ecologists, applied AI scientists, software engineers, geospatial analysts, commercial specialists, economists, and more - to create the unique DNA required to reimagine nature credits.

About the role

As Carbon Finance Lead, you will be a key driver of our ability to finance and scale high-integrity climate and nature-based projects globally. You’ll serve as a strategic and execution-oriented partner to the leadership team, helping shape and deliver the project financing roadmap — from early-stage financing to securing investment for design and implementation stage carbon projects in our portfolio. This role is for someone who blends financial sophistication with a practical, deal-making mindset and who can operate comfortably in an early-stage startup, high-growth environment. You’ll help unlock capital for project pipelines, build trusted relationships across climate finance, and partner with our internal teams to ensure our projects are investable, scalable, and aligned with evolving market expectations around integrity and impact.

Key responsibilities

  • Strategic Financing Leadership
    • Define and execute project financing strategy, aligned with the company’s mission, investor roadmap, and project pipeline.
    • Review and refine financing models, capital planning frameworks, and decision-making tools to support portfolio-scale growth.
    • Support leadership on forecasting, financing milestones, pipeline prioritisation, and financing-related KPIs.
  • Project Financing & Capital Structuring
    • Identify, structure, and support closing of financing deals across the project lifecycle, including early-stage and pilot project financing and milestone-based capital.
    • Design and package financing approaches that reduce risk for capital providers and accelerate project implementation.
    • Help develop investable project structures, including capital stack design, term sheets, and risk allocation.
  • Capital Partnerships & Investor Relationships
    • Build and cultivate strategic relationships with investors, financial institutions, family offices, DFIs, and funds active in climate and nature-based finance.
    • Lead engagement processes with capital partners, from initial outreach through diligence and final investment decision.
    • Serve as a credible external representative in climate finance settings, ensuring high trust and integrity in the way capital partnerships are built.
  • Investment Case Development
    • Work with internal teams to develop compelling investment narratives, financial models, and materials for project and platform financing.
    • Support data and assumptions required for due diligence, including delivery milestones, risk/return profiles, and implementation capacity.
    • Coordinate with our Assessment Team to ensure financing structures are aligned with on-the-ground delivery realities.

Who you are

  • Experienced Financing Leader
    • You bring significant experience in project finance, climate finance, structured finance, or investment advisory, with a track record of supporting or closing complex capital deals — ideally linked to climate, energy, nature-based solutions, or frontier markets.
  • Capital Markets & Climate Finance Fluency
    • You understand how institutional and private capital behaves, and you can navigate blended finance, catalytic capital, impact-linked instruments, and risk-adjusted project financing. You’re comfortable shaping structures that satisfy both return expectations and impact requirements.
  • Strategic + Execution-Oriented
    • You can craft a long-term financing vision, but you also enjoy the day-to-day reality of progressing deals — refining materials, pushing diligence forward, and problem-solving through complexity.
  • Hands-On Deal Contributor
    • You don’t just advise from a distance — you proactively move financing conversations forward, engage partners directly, and contribute to deal structuring and closure.
  • Collaborative Builder
    • You are comfortable working across teams and can help establish repeatable financing playbooks, templates, and systems as the company scales.
  • Mission-Driven
    • You’re committed to climate impact and aligned with values around integrity, equity, and science-led solutions.
