Rev & Regs are recruiting for a Financial Accountant (12-month FTC) role for a dynamic commercial and retail Bank focused on mortgages / lending.
Responsibilities
- Support in timely preparation of the monthly management accounts including, expense reporting, balance sheet reconciliation including deposit and treasury reconciliation and variance analysis
- The provision of accurate and timely management information
- Support in the preparation of the annual report and accounts
- Work with tax advisors in the preparation of corporation tax returns and support the Financial controller on wider tax compliance initiatives
- Manage the fixed asset register and advise stakeholders on the application of IAS 38 to project capitalisation
- Providing support during the external audit process and developing a strong control environment
- Performing analytics on financial performance
- Contributing to the development of Finance and initiatives for the improvement of the function
- Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Support the Financial Controller in ad-hoc analysis/problem solving
- Provide coaching and mentoring to Junior Finance staff as they work to support the Finance requirements of the Bank
Experience
- Qualified Accountant, ACA/ACCA or equivalent
- Demonstrable experience in relevant accounting roles
- Experience in banking / financial services either from practice or within the industry
- Strong IT skills (especially Microsoft Office)
- Ability to communicate professionally across varied stakeholders
- Proactive and inquisitive nature
- Confidence to challenge existing processes and procedures
Nice to have
- Experience with the following banking tools: Phoebus, ALMIS, Alfa and Tableau
