Overview of the Salesforce Marketing Automation Specialist role at Return on Investment Ltd (ROI). Remote position with permanent employment. Open to applicants; application deadline: Open until filled.
The Marketing Automation Specialist manages, optimises and evolves our Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (MCAE / Pardot) environment. Responsibilities include journey design, automation development, data integration, lead scoring, segmentation, dynamic content, campaign orchestration and multi-touch attribution. You will connect CRM, data, digital channels and marketing operations to deliver smarter, personalised and measurable B2B marketing. This role sits within IT but works day-to-day with Marketing, Sales, CRM and Data teams, acting as the bridge between technical delivery and strategic execution. You will shape how automation supports customer journeys, sales enablement, lead management and attribution across our clients’ B2B ecosystems. This is a hands-on, analytical and collaborative role focused on problem solving, technology-enabled creativity and business impact.

What You’ll Do
- Automation & Journey Building: Build automated, multi-stage journeys using Engagement Studio based on behavioural, intent and firmographic signals; develop nurture programmes that adapt dynamically to prospect actions and readiness to buy; set up automation rules, triggers and lead routing workflows to improve conversion and sales handover.
- Data Integration & Platform Connectivity: Support integration, synchronisation and troubleshooting between MCAE and Salesforce CRM; ensure clean, accurate and unified prospect, account and activity data across platforms; collaborate with IT/CODIFI to enhance integrations, connectors and data flow.
- Lead & Prospect Management: Build, refine and maintain lead scoring and grading models; create smart segmentation frameworks and dynamic lists; enable marketing and sales stakeholders to access prioritised, high-quality leads.
- Multichannel Campaign Enablement: Build and optimise landing pages, forms, email templates and dynamic content blocks; support execution of connected campaigns across email, website, advertising, social and offline event data; ensure campaigns are mapped and synchronised with Salesforce Campaigns for full-funnel reporting.
- Reporting, Attribution & Insight: Develop dashboards and performance reporting across MCAE and Salesforce; track multi-touch attribution, campaign influence and channel effectiveness; deliver actionable insights to Marketing, Sales and leadership teams.
- Platform Governance & Enablement: Maintain user permissions, role-based access and asset management; uphold best practices across campaign build, naming conventions, folder structures and data hygiene; train and support internal users to drive adoption and platform maturity.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Test new features, pilot AI and predictive intelligence capabilities, identify automation quick-wins; contribute to the wider roadmap for our marketing automation evolution; share knowledge across marketing, sales and CRM communities.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience with Marketing Cloud Account Engagement in a B2B environment.
- Strong understanding of marketing automation strategy, lead management, nurture flows and lifecycle design.
- Knowledge of Salesforce CRM, campaign structure, reporting and lead data flow.
- Experience with lead scoring, behavioural data, segmentation and dynamic content.
- Good working knowledge of HTML/CSS for building emails and landing pages.
- Strong analytical skills with experience creating dashboards and interpreting performance data.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into business language for non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple projects.
- MCAE certifications essential; certifications across other platforms (e.g. Marketo, HubSpot, Eloqua) a bonus.
