Are you an experienced and driven Business Development Manager looking for an exciting new opportunity with the leading independent property specialist in Edinburgh? We are seeking a professional and motivated business development manager with experience in lettings valuations. The successful candidate will join our Edinburgh Lettings team and be instrumental in driving their continued growth and success in the Edinburgh market.

The Lettings Team offer a unique 'one point of contact' approach to their landlord clients and tenants, once onboarding via the New Business Team has been completed. The Portfolio Manager is the primary point of contact for both the landlord and tenant, ensuring an extensive and detailed knowledge of the property and a seamless service. For clients, this is a significant benefit that is discussed at the valuation stage.

The Business Development Manager will be instrumental in driving the implementation of the private client growth strategy for our new office in South Edinburgh. You will be given a high degree of independence to pitch and secure new clients for the lettings business, to increase the value of branch assets under management. Generating new business leads is at the heart of this role, through significant networking and raising awareness of the Rettie lettings and asset management services as well as cross-selling sales and financial services to meet client needs.

You will work as part of the Business Development Team, alongside a highly experienced Director Valuer and the New Business Managers. You will also work in close collaboration with the Portfolio Manager Team. In addition to your lettings colleagues, you will work closely with the Rettie sales and financial services team in the branch, working as one multi-service team to meet all the client's property needs.

  • Client Acquisition: Build and maintain strong relationships with landlords, securing new lettings instructions and growing the property portfolio.
  • Conduct Property Valuations: Assess properties and provide accurate and competitive rental valuations to landlords.
  • Market Analysis: Stay up-to-date with market trends and provide informed advice to clients about rental pricing and market conditions.
  • Networking: Build relationships with private clients, professional advisors, developers and buy to let investors.
  • Property Marketing: Ensure properties are onboarded in a seamless manner for all new clients including arranging professional photography, creating property listings for marketing and ensuring a smooth handover to the portfolio management team.
  • Compliance: Ensure all properties meet current legal and regulatory requirements, providing peace of mind for landlords and tenants alike.
  • Business Development: Contribute to business development efforts by seeking opportunities to expand the client base and grow the lettings side of the business.

Proven experience in a Lettings valuation or business development role within the property industry.

In-depth knowledge of the Edinburgh rental market and legislation.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to build relationships and provide exceptional customer service.

A full UK driving licence.

ARLA qualification or similar is desirable but not essential. Support for ARLA qualification is provided.
