Retroclassic Engineering specialise in the restoration and repair of a wide range of vintage, classic, retro and future classic cars, along with carrying out bespoke modifications and 'restomod' conversions. Our premises is based in Moreton Valance, Gloucestershire (just 5 minutes from the M5 Junction 12/13) and is fully equipped to carry out all aspects of mechanical and bodywork restoration.

We are looking for highly motivated candidates with a drive to succeed, an extremely high level of attention to detail and strong interest in classic cars who are looking for an interesting new career opportunity.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the workflow and productivity of all staff within our mechanical, fabrication, paint and restoration workshops.
  • Producing highly detailed customer estimates/parts for mechanical and bodyshop jobs including liaising with the bodyshop, workshop and restoration departments as required.
  • Working with manufacturer and aftermarket parts diagrams to identify and source a wide variety of parts for vintage/classic vehicles through to 'future classics'.
  • Carrying out quality control checks on all completed works within each department at the completion of each vehicle build/repair stage.
  • Monitoring weekly and monthly invoicing targets, monitoring staff hours, raising customer invoices/logging all customer payments.
  • Raising purchase orders for management approval, logging all purchases on accounting system as required.
  • Ensuring all vehicle parts and consumables/one-off costs are charged out correctly to their respective jobs as required.
  • Managing stock levels, periodic stock checks and ensuring all parts are stored in an organised manner.
  • Ensuring all goods in/out are managed correctly, returns are processed swiftly, ensuring items sent for outsourced works are logged/managed correctly.

Key Skills for this role include:

  • A strong technical background (mechanical) and experience of complete vehicle builds within the restoration, motorsport or automotive aftermarket industry is essential.
  • Excellent IT skills and experience with dealer management or project management software packages, MS office suite/outlook.
  • Experience with creating highly detailed customer facing estimates for automotive service works (mechanical and bodyshop).
  • Experience working with dealer and aftermarket parts diagrams/systems and parts ordering.
  • Experience working with inventory management systems including bill of materials structures.
  • Detailed knowledge of aftermarket parts brands and product ranges, knowledge of workshop and bodyshop consumables.
  • Extremely high level of attention to detail, excellent communication and organisational skills.

All candidates must be highly literate and able to provide a high level of customer service and work effectively within a team.

Desirable experience for this role would include:

  • Premium brand or automotive restoration experience (main dealer or independent).
  • Project management experience or qualifications.

All candidates are expected to:

  • Have a keen eye for detail, enjoy working to the very highest of standards, take pride in the quality of their work and have a strong interest in classic cars.
  • Be able to work independently to meet strict deadlines, and work well as part of a team.
  • Have at least 5 years recent experience in a relevant field within the automotive industry, be comfortable working to strict deadlines and organising/prioritising workload effectively.
  • Have excellent communication and IT skills, a positive 'can-do' attitude, a strong work ethic, and be punctual/organised.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
  • Have a positive approach to learning new skills and working as part of a team.
  • Hold a Full UK Manual Driving Licence.

This role is a full-time position working Monday – Friday 8am - 5pm, overtime available. All candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance of our premises in Moreton Valance, Gloucestershire, GL2 7LZ.

Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
