About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Kitchen Porter to join our team at Twr y Felin Hotel on a casual basis. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, supporting the chef with basic food preparation, and ensuring all washing and cleaning duties are carried out to a high standard in line with food health and safety regulations.
What you'll be doing:
- Cleaning and sanitising all meal preparation areas, kitchen walls, stoves, sinks, ovens and grills
- Cleaning and sanitising the employee break room and back waste and recycling areas
- Sweeping and mopping all kitchen areas during and at the end of shifts
- Washing dirty dishes, cutting boards, utensils and cooking equipment
- Ensuring food mixers, cookers and other equipment are in good working order
- Receiving and unpacking deliveries
- Emptying, re-lining and washing bins as required
- Ensuring refrigerators, freezers and storage areas are clean and well organised
- Assisting the Chef with basic food preparation including washing, peeling and cutting ingredients
- Complying with statutory requirements for fire, hygiene, health and safety and licensing
- Supporting the team during events including weddings, Christmas, New Year, Easter and bank holidays
