My client in the Cambridge area are currently looking for a Sliding Head Lathe Programmer / Setter / Operator (day shift) due to expansion. They are looking for a turner capable of programming, setting and operating our 4 Star Sliding Head machines: SR20, SV20, SR32J & SR20JII type B. Machining a wide variety of components from a range of different, and sometimes difficult materials, to tight tolerances and finishing parts to the required specification.
Other aspects of the role will include:
- Quick turnaround set/run on small batch quantities.
- To be able to produce first run prototypes.
- Oversee unmanned/lights out machining.
- You will be able to read and understand complex drawings and have a good eye for detail.
- Must work well within a team.
- Have good problem-solving ideas.
Responsibilities:
- Review parts produced, drawings or instructions to understand required specifications.
- Be responsible for own quality recording outputs to drawing specifications.
- Monitor machine while working to achieve optimum outputs.
- Always looking for continuous improvement in all processes.
