My client in the Chorley area is seeking a Facade Design Engineer due to expansion.

My client is an established UK Facade manufacturer and market leader in ventilated facade systems, supplying innovative ceramic granite, engineered stone and brick slip cladding to prestigious architectural projects nationwide. With a proud tradition of British manufacturing and a commitment to design excellence, we work closely with architects, contractors and developers to bring stunning buildings to life. We are now looking for a Facade Design Engineer to join our experienced team and help us deliver even greater innovation, efficiency, and technical excellence in our expanding portfolio of facade systems.

The Role:

As a Facade Design Engineer, you will play a key part in the technical development and delivery of our facade solutions. This role requires someone with a strong background in facade or structural engineering, CAD design skills, and the ability to work collaboratively on live projects with design professionals across the built environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop technical designs for clients, including ceramic, brick and engineered stone cladding
  • Produce detailed CAD drawings, system layouts, fixing methods, and interface details
  • Liaise with clients, architects, and contractors to deliver design solutions that meet aesthetic, structural, and regulatory requirements
  • Support internal production and project teams with clear and practical design packages
  • Assist with testing, technical innovation and new product development where required
  • Attend meetings as needed to support project progress and compliance
  • Provide Project Management from customer scheduling to production and delivery

What We’re Looking For:

  • Degree in Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture or similar
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in facade or cladding design
  • Strong understanding of cladding systems, construction detailing, materials, and building regulations
  • Proficient in AutoCAD (Revit, SolidWorks or Inventor experience an advantage)
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines

Experience:

  • Facade Design: 4 years (required)

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of CWCT guidance and facade testing standards
  • Experience in rainscreen
